' I tried to turn off a bedside light and seemed like something wasn't right with me. I understood directly away it was a stroke.' In July 2023, after an active holiday kayaking and walking, Bob all of a sudden had a stroke. He was flown by air ambulance to University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where he invested 4 weeks fixing up. 'I used the health club frequently and did neurorehabilitation online (NROL)'. NROL is a group rehabilitation programme for individuals who have had a stroke or have other neurological conditions. 'I had a structured timetable which provided me something to look forward to weekly - socially, emotionally and mentally.' Bob thanked NHS personnel for 'the great support' and the continuous physiotherapy he got. Well done Bob and terrific work team! Early acknowledgment of stroke symptoms can save lives. ' Working along with nurses and seeing the distinction they made inspired me to think, 'I might do that!" Meet Sharon, a sexual health nurse and non-medical prescriber who started her nursing journey in 1985 at the Royal Liverpool Teaching Hospital. In 2010 she signed up with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust and continues to serve patients in Hertfordshire. 'I loved helping individuals and discovering the body, so nursing just felt right.' Sharon shows. Sharon has actually operated in male infertility, menopause, miscarriage and colposcopy to name a few, showing the large range of locations in which nurses make a distinction. 'Truly, I can't consider a location where nurses do not make an effect in some kind,' Sharon admits. On why her function is unique, Sharon describes, 'The care, kindness, and compassion we bring make the nursing function unique.
